“Don’t stress, Do your best, Forget the rest!”
A workshop on ‘Celebrating Exams’ was conducted at St. John’s School with Anon Foundation for classes X & XII students on 18.12.2023, with an effort to shift the paradigm of students being scared of exams to them celebrating and embracing them.
Students were first made to do a visualization exercise which made them paint a picture in their mind of themselves as the school topper, as individuals thriving and achieving success in life. The speakers laid special emphasis on inspiring students to let go of their past and focus on the now. They helped the students understand various addictions that they may be having like, procrastination, overthinking, complaining, phone, comfort, comparison, multitasking, and quitting. Students were able to understand the same and were able to figure out what addictions they had fallen prey to and what they could do to come out of the same. The concepts of ‘complaint’ and ‘gratitude’ were explained in an excellent way by the resource persons. Students were made to think of their ways of dealing with day-to-day life and how they can bring a positive change by shifting the focus from complaints to being grateful for what they have. The two “Cs” – “Choice” and “Consequence” were highlighted upon, to instruct students to keep a check on their routines, preferences and priorities.
Steps involved in studying well and letting the information enter the long-term memory were widely discussed. Students were made to identify and work on their addictions and poor habits that add up to them achieving their goals.
Many students shared their learning from the workshop and Divya Basista of class XII got an award for the same too.
Students were very thankful and happy to have attended such an interactive and meaningful workshop.
