On April 19th, 2024, St. John's School in Greater Noida West was buzzing with excitement as it celebrated Earth Day and Green Colour Day with fervor and enthusiasm. The kindergarten section was transformed into a vibrant sea of green as children arrived dressed in various shades of green attire.
The corridors and bulletin boards were adorned with intricate decorations, showcasing the beauty of nature and the importance of environmental conservation.
The highlight of the day was the special assembly conducted by the UKG-A Class. The children enthralled the audience with a captivating performance centered around the theme of saving trees. With a combination of a beautiful act, dance, and rhymes, they effectively conveyed the message of preserving our planet's greenery.
Throughout the day, various activities were organized in the classrooms to educate the children about environmental sustainability. One such activity was the dry and wet waste segregation exercise, where children learned to distinguish between different types of waste and dispose of them responsibly using green and blue dustbins.
Teachers took the opportunity to explain the significance of Earth Day and why it is celebrated worldwide. Through engaging discussions and interactive sessions, children were encouraged to reflect on the importance of protecting the environment and the role they can play in preserving it for future generations.
